Cedar is located in the heart of Leelanau County just a short drive from fishing, swimming, boating and the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Each year in July, Cedar hosts the Cedar Polka Festival featuring 4 days of polka music and dancing, honoring the Polish heritage in the area.
Though Cedar is a rural town without a big tourism influence many visitors pass through Cedar on the way to other Leelanau destinations. On their way thru many stop at Pleva's Market for some famous Plevalean, some stop to watch a Ball game and others visit Cedar Tavern for a burger and a beer.
